Kindred

Kindred is contemplative and slow-burning, built for deep listening. Released on Svart Records in April 2020, the album features eight tracks with long-form structures and recurring motifs that make it feel like a continuous journey through landscapes—less 'song collection,' more pilgrimage. Track titles reference literature ('Demian' from Hermann Hesse, 'Phaedra' from Greek mythology), cosmic scale ('Billion Year Old Being'), and elemental forces ('Fire of the Mind,' 'Maelstrom,' 'The Tundra'). The arrangements emphasize patience and space, with songs developing gradually through layered instrumentation and vocal harmonies. An acoustic version of 'Changeling' from the previous album closes the record, creating a reflective endpoint. Production maintains clarity while allowing for meditative repetition and textural detail. This is winter music - stark, contemplative, requiring attention and time.
